Case study · Dental · Tennessee · Google Ads

The phone rang 136 times in a month.

Three Google campaigns, call tracking we tested before spending a dollar, and a front desk that answers. About one in four first-time callers became a patient.

The client

A family and cosmetic dental practice in Tennessee that was paying for ads with no way to know if any of them brought in a patient.

The challenge
  • Ads were running with zero tracked conversions
  • Phone calls, where most new patients come from, weren’t being counted
  • No way to tell a new patient from an existing one calling to reschedule
Our take“For a dental practice, the phone is the conversion. If calls aren’t tracked, nothing is.”
What we did
  1. Tracking first. Call tracking installed and tested before any budget went live.
  2. Three Google campaigns. Built around people actively searching for a dentist.
  3. Counted the right calls. First-time callers tracked separately from existing patients.
  4. Followed it to the chair. The front desk answered, and we tracked which callers became new patients.
What this means for you

You can’t improve what you can’t see. The first two weeks of every Ads Engagement go into tracking that holds up.

Bars to scale. About one in four first-time callers became a patient.

August 2026, on $1,940 in Google Ads spend. Blended cost per new patient across all channels that month was $77.60. That is not a cost per patient from advertising alone.
